Money.id - Penghargaan bergengsi bagi insan perfilman dunia, Academy Awards yang ke-88 digelar, di Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Senin 28 Februari 2016 waktu setempat. Acara ini sukses menjadi perhatian para penikmat film di dunia.

Pasalnya, banyak kejutan dalam ajang yang juga bernama Oscar Awards itu. Salah satunya, film Mad Max: Fury Road sukses memboyong enam piala. Sementara film 
Star Wars: The Force Awakens yang masuk di lima nominasi, tak meraih satupun piala.

Kejutan manis juga datang dari aktor tampan Leonardo Dicaprio. Pria 41 tahun itu akhirnya bisa pecah telur dan membawa pulang Piala Oscar pertamanya sebagai aktor terbaik. 

Aktris pendatang baru Alicia Vikander yang memenangkan kategori Aktris Pendukung Terbaik untuk Film The Danish Girl.

Dilansir dalam laman Dailymail, pemain berusia 27 tahun itu juga berhasil mengalahkan juara sebelumnya, yaitu Kate Winslet dalam Film Steve Jobs.

"Terima kasih banyak untuk Academy. Terima kasih Eddie karena telah menjadi mitra akting terbaik. Untuk ibu dan ayah saya terima kasih telah memberi saya keyakinan bahwa apapun bisa terjadi. Meskipun saya tak akan pernah percaya ini," ujar Alicia saat berada di atas panggung mewah tersebut.
